Alternative Medicine: A Definition
Alternative medicine is a growing field of practice that exists to provide alternative
treatment methods to allopathic medicine. While there are a growing number of
medical doctors that are now practicing alternative medicine, generally, these
treatment practices are ones which would usually not be considered by mainstream medical
practitioners. As an example, allopathic medicine promotes the treatment of infection
by the use of antibiotics, while an alternative medicine approach would include
treatments such as ozone therapy, specific dietary supplements ( such as olive leaf extract
and/or colloidal silver ).
Combining the power of normal of 'normal medicine' and alternative medicine
is
sometimes
the
wisest
course
of action, especially when the allopathic
approach is not overly invasive / harmful.
